Privacy Policy — ECS Power BI Custom Visuals

1) Scope

This policy describes how the certified editions of ECS Power BI custom visuals (including but not limited to ECS Milestone Trend, ECS Gantt Chart, and other visuals) handle data when used within Microsoft Power BI (Desktop, Service, Report Server). It applies only to these Visuals. It does not cover Microsoft services or any other ECS products or websites (including ecs.app).

3) Data processed by the Visuals

All data used for rendering (including any personal information in your Power BI model) is processed in-memory within Power BI. The Visuals do not transmit this data to ECS systems.

4) Information ECS may receive from Microsoft

When distributed via Microsoft AppSource, ECS may receive aggregated, de-identified marketplace metrics (e.g., number of installs by region). These metrics do not include report data or end-user personal information.

5) When you contact us

If you email support@ecs.app or otherwise contact ECS, we will process the information you provide (e.g., your name, contact details, screenshots/logs you choose to share) to respond to your request and maintain support records.

Service providers (subprocessors). For support operations only, ECS may use trusted service providers (e.g., ticketing/email systems) under agreements that require appropriate confidentiality and security. The Visuals themselves do not send data to these providers.

6) "Sale" or "sharing" of personal information

ECS does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. The Visuals contain no advertising technology.

7) Legal bases (where applicable, e.g., GDPR)

• Legitimate interests (to provide, secure, and improve the Visuals and handle support).
• Consent for any optional information you voluntarily provide in support communications.

8) Your choices

Marketing preferences. If you receive product updates or marketing from ECS and wish to opt out, email support@ecs.app with "unsubscribe" and we will respect your choice. (This does not affect essential service communications you request.)

9) Retention

• The Visuals do not retain or transmit report data to ECS.
• Support communications are retained as long as necessary to address your request and as required by law or internal policy.

10) International transfers

ECS operates from Australia. Support communications may be stored in systems hosted in Australia or other countries with appropriate safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses, vendor DPAs).

11) Security

ECS implements reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including restricted repository access and secure development practices. The Visuals themselves process data within Power BI and do not transmit it externally.

12) Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal information ECS holds about you (primarily limited to support communications). To exercise rights, contact support@ecs.app.

13) Children

The Visuals are intended for business use and are not directed to children. ECS does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Visuals.

14) Changes to this policy

ECS may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted with a new Effective Date. Material changes will be highlighted for a reasonable period.
